God has continually given us opportunities to spend time with and share his love with those who are pushed to the fringes of society. In Bulgaria, this includes the Roma (Gypsy) population, who frequently live in sub-standard conditions and are treated poorly by others in the community. If you’ve never heard our story about our friend Krasi, you should ask us (or click here to read about it). Even among members of the church, there is still a centuries-old distrust of the Roma people, making it all the more important that everyone hears that God created each and every one of us, and want us to be in relationship with him!
We also have a heart for the homeless in the Centre area of Sofia. Bulgaria is the poorest nation in the European Union, and many simply don’t make enough money to survive (the pension for a senior citizen is less than $200/month). Many have no homes, and no hope. They feel invisible. Our God, however, not only sees them, but knows their names and every step they’ve ever taken!
