On Mission With the Keys
“Religion that God the Father accepts as pure and faultless is this; to look after widows and orphans in their distress, and to remain uncorrupted by the world.”
We are the Key family – Shawn, Nat and Chris. After thirteen years of traveling to and serving in Bulgaria on short-term teams, in 2015 we knew God was telling us to quit our job, sell everything, and move to this beautiful yet broken country in Eastern Europe.
So now here we are, living in the capital city of Sofia. Learning to speak the language, live in a new culture, and become part of the community – all the while pointing the people we meet toward Jesus.
Our work here includes working with the homeless and outcasts, looking after orphans, helping adoptive families, student ministry, and running the BigHouse, our community center in the heart of the city.

If you couldn’t tell already, we love sharing our story through images. While we can’t spend as much time as we like to doing this, God has allowed us to help provide for ourselves through this passion for visual storytelling. We periodically offer sets of note cards and Christmas cards, and most of our images make great prints, from small to poster-size. Click here to see more!
